This is a pair of fingernail clippers with a wooden handle. In traditional Norse funerals, it was thought that unpared nails from the dead would be available for the completion of the construction of Naglfar (nail-farer), the ship used to transport the army of giants at Ragnarök, so clipping nails was seen as an important part of corpse preparation.
