Layman’s Indubitable Footprint Bible by Humphrey G Huschenbeth

About

Hello and welcome to a Layman’s Indubitable Footprint Bible, I am Humphrey G Huschenbeth and it’s entirely possible I’m not alive. Just as a foreword, this guide will use the standard Wendigian unit of a small quarter to a large half of a full steezel, so please ensure you have your measuring rod handy. There are many kinds of birds, and all of them are terrifying. The Trumpeter Swan is among the most blood-curdling, possessing an effective range of over 4 steezels and an armament of dangerous weaponry that it will not hesitate to unleash upon you, such as a grating honk, a rapier-sharp beak and small but destructive feet. If you happen to find one that seems angry, and they always seem angry, you should avoid it in an act of divine self-preservation. I have always thought that would be the way I would go, eviscerated by a Trumpeter Swan like a glacé cherry skewered with a cocktail stick by some maestro of finger food preparation. It might not even be that painful and I think it would possess a certain majesty that would rank it in anyone’s estimations as a dignified death.

If you find a footprint that you think could be a Trumpeter Swan, then I wouldn’t even suggest pressing on to find out, just run out of the 4 steezel range and hide. I would list more of the types of bird footprints to look out for, but I have not managed to inspect them fully as I am afraid they could be Trumpeter Swans. I like my life on the run, but so far I have not been blissfully disemboweled by a regal white bird with a terrifying wingspan.
