The foreign Viking settlers in Trollsporet at the time lived largely symbiotically with the Sámi, believing them to be powerful sorcerers. This was a belief that persisted up until the large scale adoption of christianity by the Vikings, beginning a cultural and physical rout of the Sámi that has not really ceased since.
