The Muckle is a large, sturdy and structurally sound baitcasting reel prized for its considerable line capacity to cost ratio, enabling some serious whoppers to be caught without breaking the bank. It was originally created for use in the Tyne river, where a day’s fishing can rapidly segue between a fish big enough to feed a family for a week or a conspicuous lump that is checked for change and reported to the authorities.
