Fishing reels are an essential component of any angler’s setup, playing a pivotal role in casting, retrieving, and battling fish. Choosing the right reel is crucial for ensuring a successful and enjoyable fishing experience. Reels come in various designs, each tailored for specific techniques and skill levels, making it important to understand their differences and advantages. From beginner-friendly spinning reels to the precision-driven baitcasting reels, there’s a reel to match every angler’s needs.
In Call of the Wild: The Angler game, reels are split into two main categories, Spinning Reels and Baitcasting Reels, with a third that never made it into the game. Below is a list of all available reels in the game.

Fly Fishing Reels
The fly fishing reel cannot be used. It has no name or price of its own, and no rod will take it: every rod is a spinning, match, baitcasting or bottom rod, and none of them accepts a fly reel. It is listed here because fly fishing was built a long way before it was dropped, down to three reel models, interface icons and a full first-person casting animation set, which makes it a cut feature rather than an oversight.
