The Blue Kurper, or Mozambique Tilapia, is a freshwater bream, is one of South Africa’s most common inland fish species. The Blue Kurper can grow to be more than 7lb (3kg) in South African waters, with the South African record for this fish weighing almost 9lb (4kg). Many records for this fish have been caught at Loskop Dam, which is widely regarded as one of the best places in South Africa to fish for trophy size Blue Kurper.
