Description
The Largemouth Yellowfish is a ray-finned fish species in the Carp family. They are predators of aquatic invertebrates, with adults feeding almost exclusively on other fish.
Spawning occurs in riffles during summer, during which a large female can lay more than 60,000 eggs.
They are slow-growing and long-lived, and reach a total length of 12in (30cm) after only five years.
