White Crappie

This is the Wiki page for the White Crappie found in Golden Ridge Reserve.

Description

The White Crappie is a freshwater fish found in North America, and is one of the two species of Crappies along with the Black Crappie.

They are also known as the Goldring, a name derived from the vaguely vertical bars or ‘rings’ along their bodies, silver perch, white perch and sac-a-lait.

White crappies can be found in large rivers, reservoirs, and lakes, and are more tolerant of turbid waters than Black Crappies, in which they normally outnumber their black brethren.

The ship USS Goldring is named after the fish.
