Katte-don is a Kushiro original kaisen-don where you select your favorite toppings on the spot. Traditionally, Katte-don is made by carrying around a bowl of rice to each store in one hand. Katte-don originated as a dish geared toward motorcyclists, so they bought rice on its own and then seafood at other shops to save money.
