Description
The Comizo Barbel (Iberian barbel) is a ray-finned freshwater fish. The Comizo can grow up to 20in (50cm) long and can achieve the greatest weight of all the Spanish barbel, reaching 20kg (44lb) or more.
The Comizo Barbel is a fish that is constantly moving and therefore difficult to pin down. Comizo move in shoals that are grouped according to size, with the very largest Of Comizos generally moving in groups of 2 or 3.
The Comizo is an omnivorous fish, however has a predilection for natural food such as crabs, small fish, shrimp and worms. More are captured in winter because of a seasonal decrease in their natural food sources.
