Description
The Cutthroat Trout is a member of the Salmon family native to cold-water tributaries in North America. Cutthroat trout are popular gamefish, especially among fly fishers.
The common name “cutthroat” refers to the distinctive red coloration along the underside of the jaw.
At maturity, different populations and subspecies of cutthroat trout can range from 6-40in (15-102cm) in length, depending on habitat and food availability.
