Description
The Brown Bullhead (Bullhead Catfish) is a species of Catfish that lives in slow-moving, muddy waters with soft bottoms and is widely known as the ‘mud cat’ or ‘mud pout’.
The Brown Bullhead is an important clan symbol of the Ojibwe people, wherein it is one of six beings that came out of the sea to form the original clans.
An average Brown Bullhead weighs around 1-2lb (0.5-1kg), although can weigh all the way up to 8lb (3kg) in extreme cases.
These fish are nocturnal feeders and will eat almost anything.
