Anglers,
Today is a sad day. Avalanche Studios Group has officially announced the end of development for Call of the Wild: The Angler. While this marks the conclusion of new content creation, the game will remain fully playable both online and offline in its current state. Players can still purchase the base game and all DLC content across all platforms, but no further updates or new content will be released.
The developers shared that their goal with The Angler was to bring a fresh perspective to the fishing simulation genre, inspired by their passion for fishing and open-world games. Over the past two and a half years, they’ve expressed immense gratitude for the support and enthusiasm of the player community. However, the challenges of maintaining the necessary audience size for continued development ultimately led to the decision to conclude active development.
For fans of the game, this means that while no new updates are on the horizon, all existing features, including online multiplayer, remain fully operational. Players can continue to enjoy exploring the game’s five diverse reserves and participate in in-game events.
The Angler Wiki
As this is a fan website, unaffiliated with Avalanche Studios Group, The Angler Wiki will remain online for the time being, as hosting resources are reserved for the foreseeable future. Further content and updates will be listed where relevant. As an avid fan of this game, I would like to keep this alive as much as possible.
