    The Brook Trout is a species of freshwater fish, native to Eastern North America in the United States and Canada. The Brook Trout is the state fish of nine U.S. states: Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Vermont, Virginia, and West Virginia, and the Provincial Fish of Nova Scotia in Canada. Typical lengths of the Brook Trout vary from 5.6-9.8″ (25-65cm), and weights from 0.66 to 6.61lb (0.3 to 3kg). The maximum recorded length is 34 in (86 cm) and maximum weight 15 lb (6.6 kg).
