Objectives
✅ Read the Instruction
ℹ️ DescriptionFor this mission we will be catching a Sauger: a nocturnal fish. This means that the Sauger is primarily active during the night and will be near impossible to catch during the day. Golden Ridge counts 5 nocturnal species: Burbot, Catfish, Sauger, Sturgeon and Walleye. Go to the marked location to unlock the fast travel point and then return at nightfall.
✅ Go to the Marked Location
➡️ Go to the Waypoint
➡️ Return During the Night
ℹ️ DescriptionThere are four different spin fishing techniques available, each affecting the effectiveness of a lure. Constant: Retrieve the lure at a constant pace.
Stop and Go: Retrieve the lure in a
reel-stop-reel-stop pattern.
Twitching: Move the rod tip sporadically to give the lure a
momentary burst of speed.
Jigging: Continuously move the rod tip up and down.
Night time in Golden Ridge Reserve is between 19:00 and 06:00. Make your way to the mission area during that time.
✅ Catch a Gold Rank Sauger
➡️ Equip the Jerkbait with Hook Size 5
➡️ Cast and Retrieve Using the Stop and Go Technique
ℹ️ DescriptionJerkbaits are most effective using the Stop and Go technique. Occasionally pause while retrieving to perform this technique. The bottom right of the screen displays the currently active technique.
➡️ Catch a Gold Rank Sauger
✅ Learn to Locate Specific Fish
➡️ Read the Instruction
ℹ️ DescriptionInspecting Fish
In the Handbook, you can select any fish and inspect. This will show you additional information about the species such as compatible habitats and preferred baits and lures.
The habitat information is not exhaustive, nor do you need to find a place that matches every condition. However, you’re more likely to find the species in a place that matches the conditions here.
Northern Pike
Try to catch a Northern Pike with the information available in the Handbook. If you can’t find one, try changing your bait/lure and location regularly.
➡️ Catch a Northern Pike
✅ Enter the Souvenir Shop
ℹ️ DescriptionTrophy Tokens
Something you might have noticed after catching the Gold Rank Sauger is that you gained a Gold Trophy Token. Trophy Tokens are earned from catching Gold, Diamond or Legendary Rank fish and can be exchanged at the local Souvenir Shop. Unlike credits, Trophy Tokens are bound to each reserve – so if you want to buy a souvenir, you have to catch trophy fish in that reserve!
Souvenir Shop
The Souvenir Shop is where you buy the most expensive and exclusive items available. Unlike the regular shop, the Souvenir Shop is unique to each reserve. Items in the Souvenir Shop are gradually unlocked as you earn more Reputation, and are purchased using Trophy Tokens.
Reputation
Reputation is a measure of how many missions you have completed in a reserve. Higher Reputation unlocks additional items for purchase in the Souvenir Shop and is earned by completing missions around the reserve.
Final Challenge
There is one final challenge in Taylor’s Tackle Academy. A graduation gift is waiting upon completion.
