The American Pika is a small rodent and a relative of rabbits and hares, being only 1 of 2 species of Pika to live in North America, out of 30 worldwide. Typically an American Pika grows to be between 6-8 in (162-216 mm) and weighs up to 6 oz (170 g). The Pika is a herbivore, and is most comfortable in the cool and mountainous areas of the north-western United States.
