The Grizzly Bear, sometimes known as simply the Grizzly, is a subspecies of the brown bear native to North America. On average the Grizzly grows to be up to 79 in (200 cm) long and between 290-790 lb (130-360 kg) in weight. Despite being similar to black bears in many respects, the Grizzly tends to be more muscular in the shoulder regions and have claws up to twice as big, reaching 4 in (10 cm) in length.
